Job Description:

  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Moves and position raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Ensure work area is free from any hazards, underground services such as pipes, wires, etc prior to beginning work.
  • Work in areas of uneven terrain and tight spaces.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment or other materials using various types of heavy equipment.


  • Previous experience in a construction setting.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone, two-way radio and in writing.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Have a strong work ethic.
  • Perform operations using weights and measures, volumes, and distances.
  • Ability to interpret load charts and estimate weight.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wet weather, etc.).
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
  • Must be able to work 60-80 hours weekly for a long duration of time.
