Job Description

  • Must understand proper use and care for circular saw, table saw, and radial arm saw, band saws, drill press, drill motors, planer, routers, grinders and joiners
  • Know the different types of fasteners. Know the application of all common fasteners and proper pattern of fastening for job.
  • Must be able to identify the different types of wood most commonly used and their applications
  • Must be able to layout blocking arrangements from blocking plan and be able to build bilge blocks and keel blocks on the drydock.
  • Must have forklift experience and be able to demonstrate ability to operate the appropriate forklifts required to accomplish the work.
  • Must be able to construct shipping crates, cradles for shafts, rotors, etc. to carpenter standards.
  • Must have working knowledge of joiner walls, and ceiling panels, and able to read and understand manufacture supplied prints or instructions.
  • Must be able to work with US standard and metric measurements and be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions.
  • Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with unexpected events related to your assigned task in a professional manner.
  • Accountable for completion of daily work assignments including the completion and signatures to work completion and quality.

Job Requirements

  • Must have 2 years of related Carpentry experience
  • Must be able to pass a 10 year background check
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
